I come from a pretty large family (of which I am the second to the youngest), consisting of 3 sisters....Nancy, Cindy and Marsha......and 4 brothers....Virgil, Jack (deceased), Don and Frank. Both of my parents have past on, my dad from cancer and my mother from complications brought on by a series of strokes.
We grew up on a five acre farm on the outskirts of Calamus, Iowa....a town so small at the time that we didn't even have names for the streets. To be honest, it was the only way to house all of us kids while keeping the food costs down. My parents raised small farm animals....chickens, a few pigs, a couple of sheep and some ponies here and there, not to mention our "garden" that was a few acres large, which we kids weeded and harvested by hand.
